Mike Rondell
Mike Rondell is the stage name of Jaap de Groot, guitar player in the rock ‘n’ roll-band “The Apron Strings”, beat group “ZZ en de Maskers” and the band “Pandemonium”. His solo hit was “I’m Sorry Sir”, written and produced by Eddy Ouwens and stands out for its jazzy arrangement with banjo and a clarinet solo by Herman Schoonderwalt. The other singles that he makes in the second half of the seventies remain stuck in the tipparade. After his musical career, Jaap de Groot works for radio and television, including as producer of “Arbeidsvitaminen” (1996) and presenter of “De Reünie” (2008).
