Miles Davis is undeniably one of the best and most influential jazz musicians of the last fifty years. This DVD tells the complete story of the legend who passed away in ’91, from his childhood in East St. Louis to his final years traveling the world like a rock star.
The Miles Davis Story contains only unique images. For example, we see the nineteen-year-old student Miles together with Dizzy Gillesie and Charlie Parker, recordings in ’49 of the key work Birth Of Cool, the collaboration with Gil Evans for Kind Of Blue, images of his quintet with John Coltrane in the 1950s, of the quintet with Herbie Hancock and Wayne Sorter in the 1960s and the creation of Bitches Brew.
