The Enschede-based band After All was founded in 1972 by keyboard player Fred Fähnrich (Ex Libris). Fred found his drummer in Henk Zweers (Ronal Four) and in Eddy Becker a bass player. Added was singer Gerrit Trip (Highway’61 and Strange Fruit) on guitar, soon followed by saxophonist Johnny Ekkelboom and singer/violinist Jeanet Fähnrich (Mother of Pearl). In this line-up they scored record contracts with ERC and Negram, which ended in a number 1 hit with If You Need Me in South-Africa.
